Four Painless Ways To Give

Check out this site. And, after clicking the button, be sure to check the tabs at the top of the page.

And try Goodsearch. Every time you use the search engine, a penny is donated to your favorite cause. And, if you use the site to go to your favorite stores [listed below the search slot] they will give a percentage of your purchase price to your cause.
I just changed my book-buying destination. I discovered that Amazon gives 1.5% and Barnes & Noble gives 3%. Who knew?

Demeur noted that there's another one out there: free rice.com. There are several quizzes you can take. Each correct answer gets 10 grains of rice sent to the hungry. To date they've sent tons of rice around the world. And it's free for you. Paid for by sponsors.
So, you play a game, have fun and help people who need it. What could be better?

And are you a Facebooker?
There's a site there called Save The Planet. Another game site, there are dozens to choose from. Play, earn points and L$ [lunch money] and donate it to your favorite cause [again, several to choose from]. Sponsors then turn your play money into the real thing and give to the cause of your choice. You even get to see just how many ounces of CO2 you're pulling out of the atmosphere, how many grains of rice you're sending to the hungry, how many square inches of blanket you're giving to the homeless or square feet of rainforest you're saving.
So, if you enjoy playing games anyhow, why not do it and make a difference?

hi, PoP--
aren't those great sites? just a minute or so per day to give to 5 or 6 good causes. what could be better?

hey, Larry--
cool, huh? thanx for visiting here and there. the rainforest site is one of my homepages-- so I won't forget to click em every day.

Hey two crows
I of course keep coming by here every day but aside from the girl at the UN I always love to listen to i have been a bit lost to your recent subjects but bear with me. i was just going to pass through this time too but I just noticed that picture of you in your profile. Never saw that before, woo woo!

thanx, Jim--
glad you stopped by.
I was going through some old photos, found that one and decided my profile could use some sprucing up.

that was taken at the Renaissance Festival in KC. they have a spectacular one up there. in fact, I'm debating running up there this autumn for it. if I can afford to make the trip.
I know the material on AtI isn't to everyone's taste -- but it's something I'm feeling compelled to do right now.

I'm HOPING that means I'm at 7th- level Old soul age and am at the stage of teaching what I've learned in prep for leaving the planet permanently.
**sigh** well, a girl can dream, can't she? :)

I'm confused. :-( The date on this post says 31 Aug 2009, which it is not yet. But these comments were made in Sep/Oct of 2007.

Is it just me?

hi, LLL--
yesssssss-- it's just youuuu {cue scary music}
hee hee!

I postdate it so it will stay on top when other posts come along. and, yeah, it's been here for almost 2 years.
I just want to spread the word on the site -- it's an important one.

LeftLeaningLady said...

Silly. Ok. That makes sense. I will check them out.

A great site. Thanks so much. I've seen it before but--ashamed to say--forgot about it. I'm going to be spending a lot of time there. I love the stories about the artisans. My granddaughter is into peace signs--as are all pre-teens these days, I think--so I've ordered a bag for her that will really mean something.

But about that postdating. What a great idea! On my "Repository" site, I've been trying to figure out a way to keep some of those posts on top, and now you've shown me how. Thanks!

hey Ramona--
it is a great site, isn't it?
I love it because I'm pretty poor in terms of money so have to be careful about what causes I can give to. but all this takes is time -- and I have as much of that as anyone. more, actually, since I retired.

and, yeah, I accidentally stumbled on this way to keep stuff on top.

there's another site I want to post here -- it's called Goodsearch. another painless way to give.

All right that was painless thanks two crows!

hi, Jim--

Here's one to add to your collection.
www.freerice.com You expand your word power by defining words. Each correct answer gets a grain of rice sent to a hungry person. To date they've sent tons of rice around the world. And it's free for you. Paid for by sponsers at the bottom of the page.

thanks for this, Demeur. I had seen this on someone else's site. I even went over and played it -- but it didn't dawn on me to post it here.

doing it now.

an average patriot said...

They are great sites as long as people take advantage of them.

two crows said...

hi Jim--
well, yeah, there's always that.
still, who doesn't have a half-minute a day to point-and-click a few times?
